Count Down To Eternity!!!
EXTRA TIME OF ETERNITY?!
* Are you saved?
* Are you preparing for
that GREAT day?
* Where are you currently located in HIS plan
for the World?
* What are you doing
with your life?
* How far have you
* How well have done?
Consider this seriously, the time of grace is tickling away by second!
One of the vices Jesus vehemently opposed and rebuked during His earthly ministry is hypocrisy. This is because it was found to be the leaders’ way of life. It was a common practice to teach their followers one thing and practice a total different act.
As a leader we are expected to teach and live by God’s word. Many times Jesus rebuked the Sadducees and the Pharisees for being hypocrite, teaching people what they themselves could not live by. Matthew 23:4 says “For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers”
Today, many of our leaders are not leading by examples; they say one thing and do another thing. At times they think that nobody sees what they do in secret. They forgot that God cannot be mocked. He sees everything and knows all things. If we fail to live what we preached, we become like those Paul referred to “ who have their sins following them to judgment” and which are for their condemnation.(1 Tim. 5:24).
Our lives as ministers of the word must reflect the Bible in our hand lest we end up with the series of curses placed on hypocrites by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matt.23:25 “ Woe unto you Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess”.
If it is difficult for you to live by the word, is not better to step down and enroll as a fresh student of the Holy Spirit and ready to be taught instead of teaching others. What I am saying is that you still need to be fed with milk and never assume that you can crack bones as Apostle Paul said.
Our Lord Jesus Christ lived by examples and not by precepts. There is popular saying that example is better than precept. One day He carried a bowl of water and took towel and started washing the feet of His disciples. He did it first before giving the instruction to His disciples to do the same. He was saying in essence that leadership is doing what you teach or preach. Our Lord Jesus warned us in Matt. 23 verse 3 when He said “All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
If truly we are doing the Master’s work we should do it the way He wants it done, anything besides that makes us workers of iniquity which shall neither see nor enter the kingdom of God.
Hope you have been blessed by His word of life. We shall be together again next month on Leadership Digest.
